Food Sensitivity Testing

Could Your Diet Be Making You Sick? Discover the Truth with MRT!

Dr. Chad Collard provides Mediator Release Testing (MRT), the gold standard for identifying diet-related inflammation. At our clinic, we focus solely on services Dr. Collard trusts to deliver real value, prioritizing patient care over profit. MRT blood testing pinpoints foods and additives triggering inflammation, empowering you with clear data to reduce symptoms, heal your body, and restore gut health. Paired with the LEAP eating plan, this approach helps manage sensitivities, prevent flare-ups, and promote long-term wellness.

My wife struggled for years with unexplained symptoms, visiting multiple doctors who dismissed her concerns as depression or anxiety and pushed medications. She knew these were symptoms of a deeper issue, but answers remained elusive. Over time, her condition worsened, leading to a Graves’ Disease diagnosis. Elimination diets failed to provide clarity, as her triggers were inconsistent and hard to identify.

A family member recommended MRT, and it was a game-changer. The results revealed sensitivities to foods and additives—like preservatives and emulsifiers—that she couldn’t have detected otherwise. Following the LEAP diet, her symptoms began to fade, and she’s nearly off her autoimmune medications. By rebuilding her gut health, she’s reducing her sensitivities and aiming for a future with fewer dietary restrictions. This test was truly life-changing, and I wish we’d found it before her autoimmune condition developed.

I’m convinced many health issues stem from food sensitivities and the additives in processed foods. As the saying goes, “we are what we eat.” By identifying and adjusting problem foods, we can unlock better health and vibrant lives.

It is very important to correctly identify your inflammatory foods and chemicals. How would you ever know to cut out polysorbate-80 and potasium nitrate-true story. On your first appointment with Dr. Collard, he will refer you out to a lab for a blood draw nearby. We currently use Any Lab Test in South Jordan. They will draw your blood and send it off to Oxford Biomedical Technologies in Flordia for testing. At your follow-up appointment in two weeks, Dr. Collard will go over your results. You will be given a chart of foods that have been tested, and they will be in three categories. Green are safe foods, Yellow are inflamatory foods and Red are very inflamatroy foods to stay away from.

“Food sensitivities are often dose-dependent, with symptom onset delayed by many hours, and there are usually many reactive foods, not just 1 or 2 as in food allergy” -Oxford Labs

The Mediator Release Test (MRT) does 2 extremely important things:

  1. It quantifies the degree of the inflammatory response to a wide range of foods and chemicals, identifying your “reactive” foods.
  2. It identifies your safest foods.

(*Note: MRT is designed to identify sensitivity reactions only. It is not intended to identify or diagnose food allergies or celiac disease. If you have either food allergies, celiac disease, lactose or fructose intolerance/malabsorption, additional steps need to be taken in your therapy. Make sure to discuss this with your healthcare practitioner.)

Now that we have identified your food sensitivities, we will provide you with a Leap diet plan focusing on your safest foods. The four week-by-week plan will start you out eating your least inflammatory foods. This will act as a reset and teach you all the things you should be eating. By following this week-by-week plan, your body will be able to lower inflammation giving you relief from your symptoms.

“Food sensitivities are the main cause of symptoms associated with a leaky gut. Food sensitivities create a vicious cycle in that they help maintain the reason for their development (the leaky gut) while being the direct cause of the various symptoms suffered. This vicious cycle can only end after carefully removing all sources of reactive foods and chemicals, which not only eliminates symptoms but also allows the gut to finally heal.” – Oxford Bio Lab

Rebuilding and repairing your gut health to lower your sensitivities is the goal and we will show you how, but it is up to you to do the work. Your gut health is probably what started all your problems to begin with. Food sensitivities, antibiotics, a high sugar or low fiber diet, and stress can all cause damage to your gut biome, causing leaky gut.

Limiting your “red” and “yellow” foods will be the most important first step to rebuilding. The second step is building your good gut bacteria with probiotics and anti-fungal supplements and homemade yogurt full of probiotic. I highly recommend reading Super Gut by Dr. William Davis here is a link to Amazon if you are interested. But don’t worry if you don’t want to buy the book or read it. We will provide you easy step by step instructions how to make yogurt at home. It’s super easy. While I don’t agree with the no grain diet that he recommends, he’s not wrong about our grains not being what they used to be. For this reason we encourage you to buy and choose better quality grains. We like ancient grains, organic, non-gmo and more whole grains.
