What you need to know after an auto accident.

header_accidentIn the past few weeks we have seen an increase of auto accidents in our office. I know myself, that after a car accident comes the stress of dealing with the insurance company, being without a car, and often hurting. If you are like many, your health will take a backseat to getting your car fixed. I often hear “I thought the pain would go away.” Well the problem with that is it may not go away, and if it does what problems will it cause in the future?

Often we look at the damage we can see to gauge the severity of a wreck. But improved cars with plastic bumpers that are built to rebound after impact, damage can seam very minor. The internal damage to our bodies is something that we can not see. The damage to our cars does not reflect the damage that has been caused to your body. A gentleman that was in my office had been in a roll over that totaled his car, however he himself showed little to no sign of physical injury. While other small fender benders caused severe whiplash. Here are some signs of whiplash to look for: 2009 595

  • Headaches
  • Dizziness
  • Pain in the shoulders or between the shoulder blades
  • Pain or numbness in the arm
  • Blurred vision
  • Difficulty concentrating
  • Sleep disturbances
